75 to
90% of all visits to primary care physicians
are for stress related problems.
Although many westerners
think of Yoga as a form of exercise,
its name means union with God because it is seen as a meditative path
to enlightenment in Eastern philosophy.
There are now 4 states
where insurance companies fund worksite Yoga programs.
IBM, Forbes, Apple, HBO,
PepsiCo, General Electric, New York Knicks, Chase Manhattan Bank,

Peace
is often a sense of happy neutrality. This meditation
focuses on balancing the right and left hemispheres of
the brain to clear your mind of doubts. |
 |
| |
Sit
cross-legged with your spine straight. Arms are straight
with the sides of the hands resting on the knees. Press
the tips of your forefingers and thumbs together creating
a circle, and the other fingers are straight. Keep your
eyes open and gaze straight ahead. Inhale through your
nose for 5 seconds. Hold the breath for 10 seconds and
then exhale through your nose for 5 seconds. Continue
for 3–11 minutes. Focus on the inhale and exhale
of your breath.

Use
the power of your breath to enhance this mantra’s
penetrating and empowering effect. |
 |
| |
Sit
cross-legged or in a chair with your spine straight and
feet flat on the floor. Your hands can rest on your knees
or be relaxed in your lap. Focus on the center of your
brow or ‘third eye.’ Inhale deeply and fully
through the nose keeping your breath suspended in your
chest. Silently repeat the following mantra 3 times: "Healthy
am I, Happy am I, Holy am I." Then, as you exhale,
repeat the mantra once out loud. Each repetition of the
phrase is 5 seconds long. Continue for 3 to 11 minutes.
Then inhale deeply and stretch the arms up over your head
with your fingers interlocked, pulling up on the spine.
Exhale and relax.

Sit
with a straight spine. Raise your arms in front of your
torso with your forearms parallel to the ground at shoulder
height. Bend your elbows so your fingers point toward
each other in front of your throat, palms facing down.
Bend the ring and little fingers of both hands under the
thumb into the palm. Extend and touch the tips of the
index and middle fingers to the tips of the same fingers
of the opposite hand. The eyes are one-tenth open. Create
a precisely timed pattern of breath: Inhale for 2–3
seconds. Hold the breath for 5 seconds. Completely exhale
for 10–15 seconds. Continue for 3–11 minutes.
Then inhale deeply. Relax.

Cleanse
your mind the way ocean waves wash a sandy beach with
this easy meditation. Afterwards you will feel calm, relaxed,
and peaceful. |
 |
| |
Sit
up straight in a chair with your feet on the floor or
sit cross-legged on the floor. Place the palms of the
hands flat together at the center of the chest, thumbs
touching the center of the breastbone. With the eyes closed,
look up slightly, focused at a point in the center of
your brow. Inhale and chant in a 7–wave sound: "Sa
– a – a – a – a – at Nam."
On each wave the sound and energy radiates from each of
the energy centers of the spine: rectum, sex organs, navel,
heart, throat, brow point, and top of the head. During
each wave of the chant gently focus and pull the physical
area that corresponds to each energy center working from
the base of the spine to the top of the head. Continue
for 3–15 minutes.

Use
the orange as a focus point and try this meditation for
prosperity. |
 |
| |
Make
a fist of the left hand with the thumb out and with the
right hand over it. Feel that you are holding abundance.
Close your eyes and just breathe long and deeply through
your nose. Concentrate. Feel the abundance. Continue for
3 to 11 minutes. Now instead of holding your hand, hold
an orange in the palm if your right hand and cup that
hand in your left. Hold it as a symbol of prosperity and
look at the tip of your nose. Elementary abundance is
in your hands. Breathe as long and deeply as you can and
concentrate. Continue for 3 to 11 minutes. Inhale deeply,
exhale and relax. Now peel your orange and eat it. Chew
it very well and hold onto this essence of prosperity
as you eat the orange. Try practicing this meditation
for prosperity for 40 days.

This
short yoga series corrects any imbalances in your body.
In the first part, you are blessing yourself. You may
find these exercises difficult at first, but they will
become easier with time if you don’t give up! |
|
 |
|
|
| |
1) Sit in
a cross-legged position or in a chair with your spine
straight and feet flat on the floor. Hold your right hand
6-9 inches above the top center of your head, the palm
facing down, blessing yourself. Your left arm is by the
side, the elbow is bent and the left palm is facing forward,
blessing the world. Your eyes are closed and focused down
towards the middle of the chin. Breathe long, slowly,
and deeply and experience the self love. Try to breathe
only one breath per minute: Inhale 20 seconds; hold 20
seconds; exhale 20 seconds. Continue for 3-11 minutes.
Inhale deeply and move slowly into the position for the
second exercise and then exhale. |
|
 |
|
|
| |
2) Extend
your arms straight out in front, parallel to the ground,
palms facing down. Stretch out to your maximum. Your eyes
are closed and focused down towards the middle of the
chin, and your breath is long, slow, and deep. Continue
for 1-3 minutes. Inhale deeply and move slowly into the
next position and exhale. |
|
 |
|
|
 |
| |
3) Stretch
your arms straight up with the palms facing forward. There
is no bend in the elbows. Your eyes are closed and focused
down towards the middle of the chin, and your breath continues
to be long, slow and deep. Continue for 1-3 minutes. Inhale,
hold your breath for ten seconds while you stretch your
arms upward, and tighten all the muscles of your body.
Try to stretch so that your buttocks are lifted. Exhale.
Repeat the entire sequence two more times.

Practice
this meditation 3 to 4 times during the day to help bring
prosperity into your life. It is also a wonderful meditation
to practice at your desk to refresh and recharge yourself. |
 |
| |
Sit
comfortably cross-legged on the floor or sit upright in
a chair with both feet flat on the ground. Fold your hands
in the lap. Close your eyes and focus them down towards
the center of your chin. Inhale and hold the breath while
mentally reciting: "I am bountiful, I am blissful,
I am beautiful." Then exhale and hold the breath
out while mentally reciting: "Excel, excel, fearless."
Practice for 3 minutes. To end, inhale deeply, briefly
hold the breath, and then exhale and relax.
